ENTANGLED. Abuse is a pattern of coercive behaviors used to hold power over their partner. It tends to escalate over time.

While physical violence is one of most well-known types of abuse, there are also
subtler forms. People can also harm partners with emotional, financial and verbal abuse.

ENTANGLED. For many people caught in an abusive relationship, there will be lulls followed by episodes of abuse or violence. It’s not “always bad.”

ENTANGLED. A cycle of abuse and reparation makes it harder to leave the relationship because they can hold on to a hope that “it will get better.”

ENTANGLED. But, as anyone who has been in an abusive relationship knows, the decision to leave is not easy. And can often be dangerous.
